The UN Youth Strategy highlights the importance of transparency from duty-bearers towards young people and the UN system’s role in facilitating it. The Youth2030 dashboard is created to give young people and implementing partners of Youth2030 access to performance insights on the annual reporting of the Youth2030 Scorecards by UNCTs and UN entities.

Therefore, the United Nations launched the system-wide Youth Strategy:

with the firm belief that young people in all their diversity need to be full partners in the work of the UN and the implementation of SDGs.

Through its implementation, Youth2030 facilitates:

ACCOUNTABILITY

on the UN's commitments to youth worldwide and guides the UN System to work together with and for youth.

Accountability of the UN System to track Youth2030 implementation is based on two scorecards, for UN Country Teams (UNCTs) and UN Entities.

The UN's system-wide implementation of Youth2030 is marked on a color-coded scale:

  • At milestone 

    • Moving forward

      • Getting started 

for each key performance indicator and showcased in a youth-friendly and accessible online dashboard.

 

In 2020, the UN Country Team Scorecard for accountability was launched and institutionalized for annual reporting:

130 UNCTs

reported on their work with and for youth for the first time.

  • Advancing global commitments on youth

  • Implement strategic planning process and make funding available for youth work

  • Strengthening internal organization efforts to deliver with and for youth
